July President’s Letter

Hello all.  Welcome to a new CPOMC year!  We just had our Executive Board Changeover meeting and I am so excited to work with this year’s Board.  We have some great new ideas floating about.  We had a wonderful suggestion to feature a few families per month in our newsletter.  We hope this will help us all get to know one another better.  If you have someone contact you to ask questions about your family, we hope you will participate and give us a glimpse into your life.  I look forward to reading about you all!

Our new Programs ladies, Alanna and Barbara, have some fun and interesting ideas for this year’s meetings.  We hope you will all come out and take part in these great opportunities to socialize, get advice, and just get out for a few hours each month.  Our July meeting will feature our annual ice cream social.  Barbara and Alanna have added the fun twist of making this year’s social a game night as well.  I can’t wait!

We are also making some new changes to our website.  Our new web manager, Jacqueline, is busy making these improvements.  There are some exciting things included in the changes and I think you will all be pleased.  Please bear with us as these changes are made.  The website may be down on occasion while Jacqueline is working on it, but it will all be worth any inconveniences in the end!

Please check the newsletter for information on the upcoming events, Moms’ Night Out, playdates, etc.  In order to participate in the events and continue to receive newsletters (not to mention sell or shop in our August sale), you must renew your dues.  Please fill out a renewal form and send checks made out to CPOMC to Bridget Carter.  Forms and further information are included in the newsletter. 

As always, the Board welcomes any suggestions you may have to improve the club.  This is your club and we are here to serve you in any way we can!

CPOMC Yahoo Group is a HUGE success!

If you would like to "talk" to other members online, then join the CPOMC Yahoo group! It's nice to get advice from other mothers of multiples, and you won't have to wait for the next monthly meeting, or even pick up the telephone. Please be aware - this group is only for current CPOMC members.

It's easy to join!

1. Go to groups.yahoo.com
2. Type cpomc in the search box
3. Wait for the cpomc group to be listed
4. Click blue button that says "Join this Group" (top right-hand corner of webpage)
5. Follow Yahoo's step-by-step directions and that's it!

June President's Letter

Summertime…school is out, lemonade, picnics, pools, vacations (if you can afford the gas!) and the end of another CPOMC year.  Please look for a registration form in this newsletter or on the website.  Even if you are a renewing member, we still need you fill out a registration form so we can make sure we have up to date information.  Fill the form out completely and return it with your $30 dues.  We have a great 2008/2009 year planned, so make sure you renew as soon as possible!

 Our June meeting features Dawn Taylor.  Dawn is a teacher who has twins of her own.  She is working on a Masters’ thesis involving separating twins or leaving them together in school.  She would like to share her research with us and ask us questions as well.  If you are a mom with older twins, we’d love for you to come out and tell us all about your experiences.  Those of us who are facing this process could really use your advice!

 Our June MNO will be June 17 at the Marietta Pizza Company on the Marietta Square.  Join us at 7:00 for a slice of pie, a refreshing beverage, and great company.  The June playdate will be June 27 at 10:00.  Head over to Laurel Park, which has plenty of shade to keep you cool!  We had a suggestion to work in some playdates at later times and locations that might appeal to older twins as well.  We hear you and will begin working on ideas.  Let me know if you have any requests.

 The next consignment sale is fast approaching in August.  If you’d like to sell, look for information in the newsletter.  The sale committee also needs volunteers.  At the spring sale, I heard several of you sellers mention you might like to serve on the sale committee.  No time like the present!  Please contact Amy Ryan or Kelly Marlow to volunteer to serve or with any questions.

 On a personal note, I would like to thank the wonderful ladies who have served with me on this year’s Board.  You are all AMAZING women and mothers.  It has been a pleasure working with you all and serving this year as President.  I look forward to serving you again next year!
