February President's letter
Can you believe it is already 2010? Last year went so fast for me! I hope that everyone had a great year and I can't wait to see what happens this year.
For the club we have lots of things going on. Of course, our spring/summer sale is fast approaching. It is March 12 and 13. If you are going to be a new seller in this sale you need to be sure to get to a new seller meeting. There was one in January; but if you missed that one please be sure to get to the one on February 8, 2010. It will be at 6:30, just before our normal club meeting, at N. Metro Church. If you haven't sold before, really think about giving it a try. I actually have a lot of fun working at the sales and I certainly love getting that check! Oh, and sellers get to shop before the rest of the club, so that is a definite bonus.
We have a fun play date coming up in February at the Marietta History Museum - be sure to look out for the e-vite. Our February meeting is going to be a great one for helping us to decipher how to best let our spouses know that we love them. We are working on organizing smaller playgroups, there is more information in the newsletter about that. Look out for the flier in the newsletter for a discounted rate for going to the circus - if we have a good turnout for this they will give us group rates for other events throughout the year (and if you see our member Janeen Denhaese be sure to thank her for setting this up for us).
In January we combined our monthly meeting with our mom's night out and went to Chili's for some affordable fun. We had a great turnout and a lot of fun getting to know each other. We are going to do another combination meeting and mom's night out in April - this time at Sips and Strokes (www.sipsandstrokes.com).
I want to take a second to thank all of the people who volunteer their time and talents for the club - all of the board members and the sale committee put a lot of time into the club and I want to say "thanks!". I also want to thank Kasey Diep for coming up with the idea of the smaller play groups and being willing to set those up. And Janeen Denhaese has worked to set up a night for us to go see Mama Mia at the Fox as well as getting us the discount for the circus. Our club is run by volunteers and I want you to all know I appreciate what you do.
Along those lines... The board and the sale committee are in need of new members. Both the board and the sale committee have lots of members with older kids, so it is probably time to have some "new blood" - members with younger kids who will have several years of play dates and clothes to sell ahead of them. Both the board and the committee are great ways to get to know more members and to form some great friendships! So, if you are interested in being on the board, please e-mail me at

Finally, we are probably about to change our club's name. CPOMC has served us well; but we want to make sure that people know that we serve more than just Cobb County. Right now the front runner is NorthWest Atlanta Moms of Multiples with the url being www.NOWAMOM.com. If you have any ideas please let me know ASAP as I want to have the information up at our spring sale with our new name so that we can start letting the public know about the coming change. We will also keep the url www.cpomc.org for the foreseeable future.
